Carrot puree for infants
As a first food, carrots are so nourishing! Carrots are low on the allergy scale and easily digested by a tiny tummy. They contain a lot of beta-carotene, an antioxidant in reddish-orange that the body uses to make vitamin A.
Vitamin A is known to boost eye health and support the immune system. Vitamin C, iron, calcium, and fibre are other nutrients found in carrots that can support babies’ healthy bowel motions.
Carrots are also a good source of other vitamins, like vitamin K, which helps blood clot properly, and vitamin B6, which is necessary for skin, hair, and liver health.
INGREDIENTS:
Carrots
Milk (breastmilk/formula)
Water (used to boil carrot)

INSTRUCTION:
- Peel, wash and chop the carrots.
- Cook the carrot chunks by steaming, boiling or roasting.
- Transfer cooked carrots to a blender or food processor to get super smooth-textured puree.
- Blend until smooth, adding breast milk, formula or water used to boil the carrot chunks because the puree will likely be a bit too thick for stage 1 eaters without adding some sort of liquid to thin the puree.
- Let the carrot puree cool and serve right away or portion into storage containers or ice cube trays for later use.
So, that is how easy it is to make a carrot puree for your baby. Do try it out and let us know if your little one loved it.
