What should a father do when his wife is doing labour exercises?

Pain during delivery is unavoidable, but you can shorten the process of labour.

In order to reduce the time of pain, the following small actions to promote delivery can be carried out:

  1. Deep breathing exercise

The expectant mother is lying on the bed, the knees are flexed, the feet are placed flat on the bed, the hands are placed on the abdomen, and deep breathing exercises are carried out.

Father: Standby on the side, handing a towel to his wife.

2. Leg movement

The expectant mother was lying on her back on the bed, holding the bed rails with both hands and rubbing her legs together. Do not bend the knee joint, straighten the toes, and the angle between the legs and the body should reach 90 degrees. Raise the legs up, stop for a while and then relax again. Repeat this until the abdomen muscles are sore.

Father: Help the wife to keep her legs and body at 90 degrees and help her gently put her feet down.

3. Alternate movement

The expectant mother is lying on the bed, holding the back of the head with both hands, lifting the chest and abdomen slightly, and moving the legs up and down alternately. The range is from small to large, from slow to fast, and even 50 times.

Father: Help to count the number and encourage your wife to stick to it.

4. Strike movement

The expectant mother holds the back of the chair, the right leg is fixed, and moves the left leg in a circular motion, after the completion, repeat it with another leg, 5 to 6 times in the morning and evening.

Father: Help to stabilize the chair and prevent the wife from falling down.

5. Waist movement

The expectant mother holds the back of the chair and slowly inhales. At the same time, use the arm to support yourself, tiptoe, straighten your waist and slowly exhale, then breathe out slowly 5 to 6 times.

Father: Help to stabilize the chair and prevent the wife from falling.

6. Pelvic movement

Expectant mothers kneel down, inhale and raise their chest and straighten the back, exhale and raise their heads. Repeat 10 times.

Father: Put a mat on the floor to help her complete the movement.

7. Lifting leg movement

The expectant mother stands naturally, lifting one leg to 45 degrees and turning the ankle slightly upward. Change legs and repeat.

Father: Stand by to support the unstable wife at any time.
