Perfectly imperfect, the IDEAL beauty standards

Being a woman, you definitely would have admired the body structure, flawless skin, wavy hair, etc of the actresses and models on television or social media. As long as it stays in the admiring phase, everything is good. But, when it develops to the comparing part, that’s when all the issues arise.

There again, why do you even need to compare? Who told you that the above mentioned are what beauty looks like? Why should we presume that there is a particular way to be when no two people are exactly alike?

But why too many people worry and strive for perfection? What is perfection and why do we desire it so much?

This shows that societal beauty standards have a significant impact on women’s self-esteem and body image. These standards promote a narrow and unrealistic ideal of beauty, which often places emphasis on being thin, toned, and flawless.

Research has shown that exposure to idealized images of beauty can lead to body dissatisfaction and low self-esteem, particularly among young women. This can in turn lead to a range of negative mental health outcomes, such as depression, anxiety, and eating disorders.

Efforts to promote body positivity and diversity have gained momentum in recent years, as more people have become aware of the damaging effects of societal beauty standards.

Body positivity is the idea that all bodies are good bodies, regardless of size, shape, or appearance. It is a movement that encourages women to love and accept their bodies, and reject the unrealistic beauty standards promoted by society.

It’s important to recognize and appreciate your unique features and to resist societal pressures to conform to unrealistic beauty standards.

In actuality, there is no such thing as perfection; therefore, imperfection is perfection in its purest form. And, being the best possible version of yourself and consistently aiming to outperform your previous best is the sole standard for ‘perfection’.

Remember, true beauty comes from within and is reflected in how you treat yourself and others. Loving and accepting yourself for who you are, including your physical appearance, is key to a positive body image and overall well-being.

So, no matter what, all women should be valued and respected for who they are. With that, HAPPY WOMEN’S DAY BEAUTIFUL!!!!
