Massage techniques to help your wife to relieve discomfort

During pregnancy, the wife will suffer various physical discomforts. The correct massage technique can relieve her discomfort. During pregnancy, it is best to massage her in bed. There is no limit to the softness and hardness of the mattress. As long as you feel comfortable, you should control the strength while massaging.

You can play some lyrical music before the massage to create a relaxing atmosphere. It is not necessary to use emollient oil to massage. If your hands are rough, you can apply some emollient oil to avoid hurting your wife’s skin during massage.

Each movement is done 7 to 10 times during the massage. The following massage techniques are recommended as reference:

1.     Press the temple

When the wife feels that her head is heavy, put both fingers at the temple area and gently press with the middle finger.

2. Press the acupuncture points on the top of the head

The intersection point of the straight line between the left and right ears and the centre of the eyebrows is also known as the acupuncture points at the top of the head a ‘Baihui points’. Pressing this point with both hands can relax the head.

3. Massage the shoulders

Massage from the neck to the shoulder.

4. Massage the arms

Gently massage the muscles from the shoulder to the wrist.

5. Back massage

Let your wife lie on her side, follow the spine and massage the muscles with the index finger, middle finger and ring finger of both hands until the muscles relax.

6. Leg massage

Support your wife’s foot with one hand and massage her leg from calf to thigh and lastly the toes.
