Listening training: baby likes to “chit chat”
As your baby grows, his ears and hearing centre receive a lot of information around him. When he hears his mother’s voice, he feels calm and assured. What should parents do to promote their baby’s hearing development?
Play prenatal Music
A newborn baby is curious about everything around him/her. He/she may feel insecure or helpless at times. When the baby is still in the mother’s belly, he/she can hear the prenatal music played by his/her parent. When the familiar music is played when the child is born, he/she will feel a sense of security and familiarity.
Talk to your baby more often
Babies like it when others chat with them. Although they might not understand it, looking at their family’s faces and listening to familiar voices will make them feel at ease! When the baby is awake, parents should talk to the baby more.
When speaking, whisper softly to make him comfortable and at ease. If you happen to raise your voice or change the pace and tone of your speech, you can observe their curious eyes widen in amazement.
