Lifting the head

Many babies can raise their heads very high at four months old, and can even be perpendicular to the bed, indicating that the babies have sufficient neck strength. Moms and dads can strengthen their ability to train their babies to turn around and sit up. Do 3 important physical exercises with your baby!

Sit-up exercises

Put the baby lying on his back, place the thumbs of his mother’s hands into the baby’s hand, and let him hold it, while the other fingers gently grasp the baby’s wrist so that the baby’s hands are straight forward and the palms are facing inward. Gently pull the baby’s hands forward to make his’s head and shoulders lift off the bed. At this point, the baby will try to sit up by flexing his elbows, holding this position for 5 to 6 seconds, and then let him lie down gently and repeat 2 to 3 times.

Note: The sit-up exercise is to let your baby sit up with the help of an adult. If the baby is pulled up and has a weak hand and elbow, and his head hangs down, it means that it is not suitable to do this. You must first perform prone exercises to strengthen the muscles of the neck and back and the muscles of the upper limbs and then repeat this exercise later.

Forearm support

On the basis of doing a prone lifting, guide the baby to lift his upper body with his arms. Put on comfortable clothes for your baby before doing exercises, let your baby lie on the bed, place your baby’s two arms on his chest, and let your baby support his upper body as much as possible. Then the mother attracts the baby’s attention through vocalization, teasing, etc., so that his forearm supports the whole body, raises his chest, and looks up at you. You can also use the toy to attract the baby, and move the toy from left to right and from far to near so that the baby can turn his head.

 Turn over exercises

Continue to train your baby to turn over as before. Put a toy on the baby’s side to make him roll over and grab it. The mother can hold the baby’s hand and the baby can turn over from supine to side to prone.
