Fruits that you may have been eating wrongly

Fruits are an important part of a healthy diet, providing essential vitamins, minerals, and nutrients that our bodies need. However, many of us may not be fully utilizing the nutritional value of certain fruits, as we may not be aware of the proper ways to prepare and consume them.

In fact, there are several fruits that we may have been eating wrongly, either by discarding parts that are edible or by not taking advantage of their full nutritional benefits. Here are a few examples:

Mangoes

Many people only eat the fleshy part of the mango and discard the skin, but the skin is actually edible and contains a high concentration of antioxidants. To eat a mango properly, you can cut the fruit in half, remove the seed, and then slice the fruit into cubes, leaving the skin on.

Kiwis

Kiwis have a thin, fuzzy skin that many people peel off before eating the fruit, but the skin is also edible and contains fiber and other nutrients. To eat a kiwi with the skin on, simply rinse the fruit and then slice it into rounds.

Watermelon

Watermelon is often eaten by cutting it into slices or cubes, but the rind is also edible and contains a high concentration of citrulline, an amino acid that can help improve blood flow and lower blood pressure. To eat watermelon rind, simply remove the outer green layer and then slice the remaining white part into cubes or strips.

Apples

Many people discard the core and seeds of an apple, but these parts are also edible and contain nutrients like fiber and vitamin C. To eat an apple with the core and seeds, simply slice the fruit into thin rounds, being careful to avoid the seeds, or chop the apple into small pieces and eat around the core.

By properly preparing and fully utilizing these fruits, you can not only reduce food waste but also maximize their nutritional value.
