Don’t Miss these 4 Important Things During your Baby’s 1st Month

Did you know what are the 4 main aspects that cannot be missed during the first month of early education?

Besides crying and drinking milk, newborns are basically sleeping most of the time. The brain tissues are starting to be active at a young age. Thus, it is important to pay more attention to your baby’s growth. So, what can parents do for their one-month-olds in terms of early education?

Movements

In the first month of life, the baby’s head will move from side to side; he will kick and stretch his arms; his eyes will follow the objects by a few centimetres, and he can fix his gaze on objects which are 15-30cm away from his face; when someone gives him an object, his natural reflex is to grasp the objects with his hands.

Early education highlights:

The first thing to train your baby during his/ her first month of life is head-turning. You can lie your baby flat on the bed, and use the sound of the rattle to train your baby to turn his/ her head. Mothers can also use music to train their baby’s sense of rhythm.

Language

Babies can only express themselves through crying. For example, they will cry when they are hungry, feeling unwell and so on. If you take time to observe your baby, you will find that your baby will make certain coos and gurgling sounds when they are happy even at an early age.

Early education highlights:

Babies will learn how to listen first and only then learn how to talk. Thus, you should start communicating with your child in a clear tone, you may talk to your baby repeatedly to enhance memory and familiarity.

Cognition

After being close with the mother, the mother will gain the trust of the baby. Your baby will understand that his/ her mother will attend to him whenever he is hungry or crying. Your baby will stop crying out of hunger when he knows that mummy has noticed that he is crying. The baby will slowly get used to the mother’s feeding methods and may refuse feeding by other individuals. This is due to the sense of security that the child has for his mother.

Early education highlights:

When you play music during your pregnancy, your baby will be able to hear and move in your womb. You may give it a try and play the same music after your child is born. By doing so, you are exposing your child to the same music, creating this sense of familiarity with music, rhythm and melody. It is another way to introduce your newborn child in a slow and relaxed manner to this new world.

Psychological

When the baby is carried by the mother, the baby will lean closer to the mummy’s embrace, yearning for intimate contact with the mother. A gentle touch or kiss will satisfy your baby.

Early education highlights:

Studies have shown that newborns feel reassured by the beating of the human heart. Therefore, when the baby wakes up from his sleep, a mother should hug the baby and let him find comfort in her familiar breath and heartbeat.
